Portland

Rainy, cold, Portland, Oregon. Today was so crazy busy, 9am work out, 10:30am online chemistry class, 11:30am I had to go to a local university to do a chemistry practicum while I skyped my Columbia professor as well as find a dance studio to do the same with my Columbia dance teacher, I ended up not eating anything from last night till 2pm. Then I went to go back to the tour bus and Julian stuck his head outside the window "GET ON THE BUS!" and I smiled and went to go run over to the door and I see Julian turn his head back in the bus and he shouted "Will you SHUT THE FUCK UP?" And I at first thought it was a joke but then I entered the bus and saw Beardo drunk arguing with Julian while laying on a couch and Julian was close to me with his arms out confusedly.

CHRISTINA

(slowly walks in and puts an arm around JULES' waist, quietly) Hey, what's going on?

JULES

(notices CHRISTINA and puts his arm around her shoulder) What? Nothing. 

BEARDO

(drunkenly) No, ... it's not nothing!

JEFF

Fucking quit it, man!

BEARDO

Fuck her. (he throws his water bottle and it hits CHRISTINA in the face. She lets go of JULES as he steps forward)

JULES

Dude! Stop! (CHRISTINA looks down on the floor and sees the water bottle and then shoots her head up, eyes like daggers, BEARDO is taken aback by the death glare and is physically jolted. JULES notices his fear and whips his head around and sees CHRISTINA ready to pounce and as she takes a step forward and throws her arm out JULES grabs both her arms back and escorts her off the bus) No, no, no, not here.

CHRISTINA

What the fuck is his problem!

JULES

I don't know. He's an asshole.

CHRISTINA

I mean...what the fuck! I've literally been nothing but nice to him, he called me a phony yesterday...haha what an old fucking loser.

JULES

I know, I know, but we gotta deal with it for the time being. Don't be nice to him anymore, just don't even talk to him. 

CHRISTINA

I didn't! I walked into a fucking fight!

JULES

I know, he was drunk, let's just get some food. 

CHRISTINA

Ugh...fucking dick.

And that's where I'm at with Beardo right now. And for those of you who've emailed me about Beardo being a rape-y little freak, Julian does know, but as you can see above, there's really nothing he can do about it. I told him he could ask Albert or Nick to play for the Voidz but he said they couldn't and were too busy...and then promptly said "Well at least I don't have to worry about you getting too close with any of my bandmates..." to which I smacked him on the shoulder and he laughed. Har har, Jules. We got grilled cheese and soup (I know, soup addicts this week) and ate at a library in Portland. Sadly not Women and Women First but still a pretty cool library. I had to watch a court class while Jules messed around with playing some new songs then we got dinner alone and hung out watching youtube videos and tv till it was time for him to go on. I'm okay with Beardo being an ass to me, I just hope he doesn't ruin Julian's mood. I love him, his happiness is more important to me right now. And let's quote a popular song here folks..."A little time with you is all that I get..."

Amoeba Signing

I AM NOT FROM SAN FRANCISCO! I UNDERSTAND THAT 'SAN FRAN' IS A TOURISTY NAME BECAUSE I AM A TOURIST HERE, QUIT WITH THE DAMN EMAILS YOU HEATHENS.

Anways, I wasn't in LA for the Burger Records signing (because of SNL) but from Jules I heard it took him around 4 hours to get through everyone (and there was only 150 people! and then some extras that Jules couldn't turn away) so when I heard he was doing another signing in SF I was like...well fuck. What the hell am I supposed to do today?? But I came up with a solution. I have classes anyway, and I am most certainly not welcome to the signing (not by the band but I can't imagine the fans would like to meet their idol while he's there canoodling his girlfriend [haha canoodling, I spelled that right OFF THE BAT, go me]) so Jules thought if I hid during the signing with headphones (another reason why I didn't want to be at the signing was that girls would definitely be shit-talking me to Jules and I just don't need to hear that) on while I do my homework/watch classes online underneath his table...I should be fine. So if anyone sees this after they meet the band and think "What was the light shining on Julian's crotch?" it's my computer back light, and it's beautiful. Signing starts at 4pm so I'm chilling (10:41am) right now. I'm actually writing this blog-post while doing some research work for some grad students at Columbia. Then I have to register for classes for next spring and then I've got a chemistry class...lunch with Jules...then the signing while I watch a court class on my computer...then a skype session with a group of students and me for a forensic project...then at 7:30pm the signing should be winding down by then and we can get dinner and watch Gotham together (everyone go watch Gotham, no one I know is affiliated with it, when I say watch Gotham it comes directly from a this-show-is-fucking-awesome place in my heart). So that's the schedule right now, I'll update throughout the day. 

I finished my research and registration much faster than anticipated! I'm done with both of those things and it's 11:37am, more time fixing Jules' hair...

I think I broke my middle right toe just now. I was rushing into the trailer and I slammed my foot into a hard wall and literally screamed out in pain. Jules, instinctively, rushed over and grabbed me as I fell down saying over and over "It's okay, it's okay, you're okay, breath, shhhhhh, you're okay" and that's how New Yorkers react to a probably broken toe. It's gross and swollen now and I hit it so hard that the nailpolish came off. What the fuck?? Poor baby toe. But according to my basic knowledge of smaller toes...they break all the time and heal themselves. So, yay! Anyways, like I was saying, I registered for classes for spring: Jazz Dance, Intro to Learning, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Sexuality and Family Life, Adolescent Development, and another research course. Fun stuff right?? I actually planned out my schedule pretty well:

Monday 11:30-12:20 and 1:30-2:20 classes

Tuesday 9-10:15, 12-1:15, 1:30-2:45 classes

Wednesday 11:30-12:20 and 1:30-2:20 classes

Thursday  9-10:15, 12-1:15, 1:30-2:45 classes

Friday 11:30-12:20 and 1:30-2:20 classes

Which leaves me a lot of time for SNL and the movie (which is almost finished!!) Since the last time I talked about the movie I've filmed another 5 whole scenes (which is a lot since the scenes are quite long). Only 16 scenes left...and I'm in all of them haha. Tom Hiddleston is done and Ryan is almost done, but Liam Neeson and I have a lot more stuff to do.

The signing is official over!! It's 9:59pm right now but it finished around 9:07pm. Boy that took a long time. After 2 straight hours of me watching either tv/class/or studying I got an important phone call and I didn't even realize my phone was on and it rang so loudly and vibrated so crazily that I hit my head on the table above me and then crawled out behind the band and went to the next room to take the call. It was from Chris Nolan about me being in New York this Sunday to film, which I was already gonna do anyway so no worries there. But when I entered the room again in my all black get up (hoodie, sunglasses and black football black cheek lines) people didn't seem or react like they recognized me so I just ducked down and went under the table again. A few more signatures later and I hear a girl ask "Can I get a picture with you and Christina?" and Julian looks down under the table and I shake my head no while waving my hand across my neck. Julian then went back up to the girl and said "She's asleep" and the girl said "I just saw her climb down two seconds ago!" and then Julian looked at me and I popped up and asked the girl "You wanna get in the middle?" and then she said "No, no I want to take a picture of the two of you!" and we looked at each other quite confused but then posed for her in a goofy way and then she asked for both of our signatures and was on her merry way...quite interesting. Another girl asked for my signature while I was under the table and I took the sheet underneath the table and signed it there, "To Alyssa, Your name is difficult to spell which means when you're famous you can go by your first name, unlike me, -Essenelle" and then a heart underneath. Supa cute. After that I only took one more picture with a girl in the middle of us and then was mainly under the table alone after that. 

I was blasting music from my headphones so loudly that once the signing was over I didn't hear them shout at me or flicker the lights so while I'm on my computer I just see Julian crawling to me in the dark and I jump up and, yet again, smack my head on the table above me. They all had a good laugh and we left to go get dessert and SLEEP. We were all exhausted. Now we hit the road to Oregon! More laterzzzzzzz. <- ew.

San Fran

Yes, it's true, I got my hair done. I'm rocking ash ombre and I, too, love the crap out of it. Thank you for all your sweet emails and all the positive press! Today I head to San Francisco to be with Jules! I'm currently on the plane waiting to take off so I figured I'd write something. Jules and I have been skyping for the past two days and it's probably annoying for me to say that I missed the crap out of him. It's funny we dated for 3 years and 8 months and the final 10 months were spent almost entirely apart with a vacation to each other every now and again and the other 34 months were spent almost entirely together. According to Nasim in an interview, "they were practically connected at the hip". I'll share those interviews at another time (or possibly at the bottom of this post, I do have a long flight). So it's funny that we've reverted back into that where's-my-twin phase. But hey, I'm loving it. Oh and this past Monday (the 3rd) was our two month anniversary of our new relationship...does this add to the first 44 months or does it start over? Lemme just poll y'all.

I'm doing well! Saturday Night Live is back in full swing and we just finished up our third episode this past weekend.

ELLEN

I know, I saw, I've always loved your kissing characters (laughs). A little while ago I had Kate McKinnon on the show and she was talking about how you were her inspiration to audition in the first place.

CHRISTINA

Really? Aw that's so sweet of her...I love Kate, she's definitely a show favorite. Now I know how Kristen felt when I joined the cast!

ELLEN

She's a role model to gay blondes everywhere, well, except for me of course. (everyone laughs)

CHRISTINA

It's a lot of fun working with her and Aidy Bryant, they're a ridiculous duo of chaos.

ELLEN

Speaking of chaos, you've had quite the fall! (she points to the wall behind her and it's a magazine cover of Bradley and Christina and a big rip between their pictures "ESSENELLE CALLS IT QUITS!")

CHRISTINA

(reading the cover) "Christina reunites with Strokes front-man Julian Casablancas in France. Leaving Bradley heartbroken and alone" Well that can't be right. (she laughs)

ELLEN

 Is it?

CHRISTINA

Well, yes and no. I am back together with Julian but Bradley is not heartbroken and alone he's off gallivanting with a 21 year old model.

ELLEN

Does that upset you?

CHRISTINA

It upsets me that he was cheating on me with her for several months and didn't tell me. (audience is shocked as well as ELLEN)

ELLEN

Really? When did you find out about this?

CHRISTINA 

I've explained this on my blog in a master post but I'll reiterate. I had a dream about Julian out of nowhere and I thought I'd drop him a line. We hung out twice and it was very apparent that there was still strong feelings between the two of us. So I put it to the test and told Julian to meet me where Id run and hide to, flew to France that night, got there in the morning and Jules got there a half hour later and we just...I don't think there was a moment during our break up where I didn't love him (getting swept up) ugh, don't ugly cry. Haha.

ELLEN

(hang rubbing shoulder) It's ok.

CHRISTINA

It's so awful that I'm being portrayed as this heart-breaker when in reality I got dumped, and on a whim decided to give someone else a chance, someone who I knew could love me and deal with all the madness. Julian and I broke up in 2013 because he was ready to settle down and start a family, and I wasn't. It wasn't because we didn't love each other or because someone cheated, I just wasn't ready for the next step.

ELLEN

So what happened after you two met up in France? 

CHRISTINA

We traveled for like a month through France, through Italy...it was the honeymoon we needed back in 2013. It was as though no time had passed and we were the same again. I'm happier with Julian, despite all the tabloid drama... we are a happy couple.

ELLEN

(audience cheers) Well I'd hate to keep you from someone who's been kept from you for so long, ladies and gentlemen Julian Casablancas. (audience cheers and JULIAN walks out and waves, ELLEN and CHRISTINA are standing when JULIAN low tackles her and sweeps her into a big hug and kisses her cheek, the audience laughs and CHRISTINA regains her footing and they share one passionate kiss. The audience aws. Everyone sits down and JULIAN puts an arm around CHRISTINA and they both cross their legs and CHRISTINA rests her head on his shoulder, ELLEN has a big smile on her face and the audience aws again) You two seem really happy. Christina, as someone who is on SNL and comes into contact hundreds of celebrities and musicians, why Julian, when you met you were with Andy Samberg at the time-

(mutters to CHRISTINA, speech is slightly audible, CHRISTINA laughs)

JULIAN 

Oh no I was just saying I'm good at making Christina break up with her boyfriends (everyone laughs and CHRISTINA puts her head in her hands and she shakes her head laughing)

ELLEN

That's true! You do have a knack for that Julian. But what is it about him that just struck you "I need to be with this man"

CHRISTINA

When I met him in 2010-

ELLEN

4 years ago!

CHRISTINA

I know! Together for 3.5 years...but anyways, when I met him I was taken aback by his music first and foremost. We filmed Boombox and I was listening to his studio work and he just had this gorgeous angelic voice. Then we first hung out at a party a day or two later and he was just so...cool. I don't know he was just this really rad guy who wanted to play video games and babysit with me. No one has made me get butterflies as much as he does, you know, no one makes me smile as much (JULIAN grabs her sides and she squirms and smiles) he's my idiot. Haha.

ELLEN

And Julian you're in a similar position, fans must ask you all the time, why go back to Christina, what makes her the one you want to be with?

JULIAN 

Umm, definitely a less...elegant answer. Haha, no, um, Christina knows me, you know, she knows what I want to say when I can't say it, she-

CHRISTINA

She has great tits is what he means to say- (the audience ooos)

ELLEN

Woah! (JULIAN is laughing)

JULIAN 

Um, yeah that too. Haha, well what do you mean why did I go back to her or why did I originally like her?

ELLEN

Why did you originally-

JULIAN 

Ohh, ok, well I mean, just look at her. She's beautiful, and she's a very impulsive person so it's never a dull moment.

ELLEN

She keeps you on your toes.

JULIAN 

Yeah.

CHRISTINA

Well thanks Jules. (they kiss)

ELLEN

Christina how did you know Julian would go to the right place in France?

JULIAN 

Right place in the world. My only clue was that she would take a plane over there.

CHRISTINA

Haha sorry, but you figured it out! I guess I am pretty impulsive. Uh, how did I know, right, uh I didn't! I guess would be the best answer. But during our break up we'd hung out a few times, twice the week of our France excursion, I saw him at the Nightwing premiere-

JULIAN 

We also would text occasionally, make sure the other was okay-

CHRISTINA

Yeah like I said, we ended things mutually, I just wasn't ready for the next step.

ELLEN

So what's on the table for the two of you know, what's next for Essenancas? (they both laugh)

JULIAN 

I forgot about that nickname.

CHRISTINA

That was my email password for a long time haha. (a brief pause, they both take deep breaths) Well, Julian's solo album just came out, Tyranny, and he's on tour right now so he's going to be doing that for probably (to JULIAN) what, a year?

JULIAN 

Probably less.

CHRISTINA

Yeah, and I'm still working on this movie and SNL so I'll be in NYC for at least 2 more years.

JULIAN 

And I'll be there too.

ELLEN

Sounds like happy days are ahead. (they both smile) Well thank you both so much for coming in and talking to us and Christina know that we're all happy you two are together and happy. Let's give another hand to our guests!

I landed in San Francisco earrrrlllllyyy. Got to use Lorne's plane and his awesome stewardesses (Alice being the coolest) and we landed at 8am (11am NYC time) and Julian rode up with the town car that would've picked me up from the runway anyways. I love seeing him, he always surprises me with something and this time he surprised me with food from this weird (but delicious) place in SF that only sells French Fries and different types of soup. SO GOOD! I was so jet-lagged though so we ate this together in the town car and then Julian dropped me off in his tour bus and I slept for two hours while he did God knows what. 

Once I got up I saw that Julian was with Jake and Beardo in the other part of the tour bus just hanging out and I joined them. I think I'm closest to Jake at this point, Beardo is definitely not my biggest fan but hopefully that changed a little today. I was talking to the three of them and I asked, mainly to Jules, but out loud "Can you guys listen to me sing this song and tell me if it sounds good enough for TV?" and Beardo rolled his eyes and Jake nodded and I started singing. The other guys were in the other part of the bus so they could hear as well. A minute into the song the other guys popped in and stood by and watched mouth agape. Once the song ended Julian was smiling and the rest of them just stood/sat there in stunned silence. Amir was the first person to say anything

AMIR

Holy shit.

CHRISTINA

Haha, did you like it?

BEARDO

I didn't know you could sing.

CHRISTINA

What? I thought you saw me sing on Jimmy Fallon for Halloween with Jennifer Lawrence!
BEARDO
We did, Jules made us watch it but I figured he was covering up for you by saying you were singing when really you were lip-syncing.
CHRISTINA
(in awe) You thought I was lip-syncing...?!
BEARDO
I don't think I would've ever believed you had you not just sang for me.
ALEX
Does this mean you can play piano too?
AMIR
And gymnastics?
CHRISTINA
(she smiles and looks at JULIAN) Someone get me a keyboard. (few moments later she has a keyboard and starts playing Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata with her leg behind her head)
JULES
I told you guys. 

It was a lot of fun, I love playing the piano. It's like math, there's a right key and a wrong key so it's easy to memorize the key strokes. Haha, Strokes. We got dinner delivered to us and it was pretty good! Balsamic vinegar chicken, onions and garlic stew and Jules had tomato soup and a grilled cheese. He's all about soup today. Julian and I hung out till the last minute before his show started, I felt a little bad but hanging out with him like we did is just too fun. He's doing a signing in San Francisco tomorrow and then we hit the road for the Pacific Northwest. So excited!AND Jules and I are currently planning a trip together for the week after Christmas, we don't know where yet but we know it'll just be the two of us and somewhere where we can do a lot of things (aka not some town in the Midwest), hopefully not America at all, I love travelling outside the country and hope to do so with the Voidz. Still don't know that far ahead for my SNL schedule. Anywho, I'm off to go peruse the internet. Julian and the Voidz are playing right now, sounds good! More later, toodles!

Julian will not be at the show tonight because he's still on tour (LA today signing stuff) and then tomorrow I join him on the road to San Fran, Portland, Canada, and Seattle till Sunday the 16th. Then we've got Woody Harrelson with musical guest Kendrick Lamar on the 22nd. So I'll be in NYC from the 17th-22nd. Julian will be gone that entire week in Minnesota, Chicago, Detroit, and Canada. Then he comes back to NYC for Thanksgiving and stays there for a week and a half and then heads to Europe for a week (London, Paris, Belgium, Amsterdam, Germany and Coppenhagen. I'm not sure if I'll be joining him in Europe yet, I only have four more weeks of schedule (Cameron Diaz: November 29th, with musical guest Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars). So I know I've got one week off  (9th-16th) and then I'm on for two weeks and then off from 30th-7th (the 7th is when Julian leaves for London). So, we'll see how frequently I post on here, haha.

~Post-Show~

IT'S PARTY TIME! Honestly, I don't think the show went very well. Pete blew his stand-up set, Vlog went poorly, and Chris Rock just delivered his lines slowly. Leslie was fantastic though, I'm really surprised by her, so proud.

As always there's a killer SNL After Party but I've got to admit, it's not as much fun when you're going stag. When you've got a boyfriend there you've always got someone to talk to even if you go ahead and mingle and then there's no pressure to be the life of the party because you've got a significant other there. So tonight I went stag while Julian drives up to San Francisco for a show tomorrow night and let's just say...I overdid it a little. Danced on a table while Kyle pretend break-danced for everyone. The featured members and I took shots while Kate McKinnon was on my shoulders. It was fun, but a little embarrassing. I had to get Beck and Zach (writer) to help me back to my room. Now that I'm up a level of stairs it's slightly more difficult to get back to my apartment. But alas! I survived. Now for a flight to San Francisco to see the boyfriend. Toodles!

City of Voidz

Or Angels, either one. JC + The Voidz + Christina showed up to the Wiltern around 3:30pm and literally the line was even more ridiculous than last night, I have no idea how the show is going to go but I'm glad to be on the sidelines instead of the crowd. I have a feeling Julian won't pop up outside again because of the crazy crowd.

I love being on the road with Jules, France is probably one of my favorite trips together. We stayed in a hotel last night and he was so...I don't know if this is the right word but I'll say it anyways, appreciative. I surprised him with a last minute trip to see him perform and I think he really liked that. We had a nice night in after the show and another nice romantic day together before the big show tonight! I love Jules.

Not Posh Mosh

Even though Chris Rock is hosting this week I decided to head to California with Julian to see him perform in Santa Ana and Los Angeles! I finished up my filming Monday and Tuesday so it was a doable trip. Julian was on the road almost all of last week in Texas and sadly we did not get to spend Halloween together because of all the preparation we had to do for the Jim Carrey episode (how great was the Chandelier Costume Contest sketch??) but Halloween was magnificent anyways. SNL hosting a huge Halloween party in the studio and I pregamed that party with Nasim, John Mulaney, Kristen, Fred, Bill, Nick Valensi and Nikolai. I love that I know so many nicks that I have to put the last name but I have yet to meet other Nikolais. I dressed up as Wednesday Addams, Nasim was a sexy vampire (no surprise there, Nasim is always something sexy for Halloween I'm either something funny or really dark), John was a s'more, Kristen was Marilyn Monroe, Nikolai was Don Draper (AKA he wore a suit and drank whiskey), Nick was nothing from cause he's too damn cool, and Fred and Bill were dads, which is funny because Bill just looked normal but Fred looked ridiculous. The relationship between Nick and I is much better alone than it is with Julian. Nick invited us to his house for a party a week ago and everything seemed pretty okay, not back to normal but we're definitely working on it :)

The party was insane but not even NEARLY close to the crazy mosh pit murder fest that was the JC + The Voidz Santa Ana show. Holy Jesus, we got to the show in Jules' tourbus/Trailer around 4pm and people were already lined up. Main attire was black, leather, and lace main age was 16-24 which is way younger than I would've guessed. Usually when I go see Julian perform I just hang out backstage because I figured the last person the audience would want to see is the girlfriend of the guy their screaming about but this time I stuck to Julian's side and during the concert danced a little on the side wings while he played. The opener (Part Time) went for an hour and the audience absolutely hated it, one guy screamed out "PLAY SOMETHING THAT'S NOT GENERIC!" and there weren't many people who denied that statement...I was with Julian during that comment and he felt really bad because he asked them to come out and they were getting heckled...but what can you do. You're an opener, not a headliner.

Once Julian walked out the crowd turned vicious and started trampling people to get to the front, I mean, people were literally disappearing from the crowd as these massive guys were slamming their way to the front. It was insane. Towards the end of the show one girl was crowd surfing and then passed out while being crowd surfed so she fell on her head and security had to escort her out. Literally, not cool...super scary. After they did their encores Julian jumped back stage and took his denim vest off and found me.

JULIAN

(exhales and wipes sweat from his face) Holy shit. That fucking crowd!

CHRISTINA

Are you going to go out there and meet them?

JULIAN

Are you kidding me? They're fucking animals, I thought you'd be the first person to say I shouldn't go out there.

CHRISTINA

Oh I definitely don't want you going out there, I just didn't want to be the one that swayed you into that decision. Haha, yeah let's keep you alive for tomorrow's show.

JULIAN

God damn, did you see that girl?

CHRISTINA 

Yeah I wanted to grab her and take her backstage. Poor kid.

JULIAN

Alright let's chill here till the crowd dies down then tour bus back to hotel? 

CHRISTINA

Sounds good.

So if anyone reading this was at that show, calm the fuck down.
