Memorial Day Blast!

I was chatting with old acquaintance and beautiful lady Drew Barrymore on Monday at this Memorial Party I was invited to. I went with Jen and it was a lot of fun but I think the most fun was catching up with previous rap-mate Leo DiCapio! We chatted for a while and danced a bit and caught up on what we were doing since Leo was on SNL. It was nice to see him again, he's a nice guy.

Jen has been living at Casa de Essenelle for the past week or so and it's been great! I've recently taken up making people birthday presents so for Nasim's birthday I'm doing something crafty for her. I do realize that her birthday is in November but by the time I finish this ridiculously large project it will be November. But it's funny, Jen is crocheting me a scarf out of boredom and so we just crochet and cross-stitch together on a couch while the TV is on---we look like we're 80.

This morning Jen woke up with extreme tooth pain (that of which she's had for the past week) and so finally she got her butt to a dentist and it turns out that she needed a root canal! So she got one of those today and now she's resting and is hopped up on advil and tylenol and what not. Poor kid.

Yesterday Jen, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and I went to the L.A. Zoo! It was so much fun, so freakin' hot though! Got some good pics, bought a picture of the four of us together, overall it was a wonderful day at the zoo. And I love hanging out with people I haven't seen in a while; and Ryan and I have this kind of friendship that's even though we haven't seen or talked to each other in a while we'll still understand our wacky types of humor and still be goofs together. I missed that dude.

Have a great weekend peeps!

Fred Armisen

I can't believe that last night will be the last time that we'll be on stage as SNL cast members together. I don't know how you kept it together because I was one hell of a wreck. You're such an amazing actor as well as a comedian and I know you'll do great things post-SNL. I've seen you get married and I've seen you at your worst, and through thick and thin I've never once not wanted to be your friend. You're an incredible human being and an even better friend. I'll miss you buddy.

Bill Hader

A man of many voices and expressions is sadly leaving SNL to pursue other entertainment opportunities. I'll miss him dearly and know that everyone will miss him as well. Stefon was such a funny character and I'll hate to see him go. Bill Hader was on that Alaska trip that brought me into the SNL world, and I'll never forget him.

Jen is out in California and is staying with me!! I love her so.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I am sending out the BIGGEST congratulations to my best friend and a much respected colleague SETH MEYERS FOR HIS NEW GIG AT LATE NIGHT!

Late Night with Seth Meyers...!!
and CONGRATULATIONS TO JIMMY FALLON!
The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon...!

Honestly though, Seth you deserve this. You've worked your butt off from day one and have led SNL to the wonderful shining beacon it is today. I love you and I will always be there to make sure you don't get to big headed. ROCK LATE NIGHT!

And Jimmy, I think I'm most happy that NBC is getting rid of Leno, BUT, I am also super ecstatic for you and know that you'll do great, you raised the Late Night ratings like no other and you'll always be an amazing friend to me.

Love Always,
Christina

P.S. See me on Conan O'Brien on June 3rd!

Well Folks

It's official. I am rented out a nice house in southern California for the summer. It's really beautiful too and it's definitely my "splurge" of the summer cause it's DAMN big. It's 17,000 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, beautiful glass walls, great view, and the master bedroom opens up to the pool, crazy gourmet kitchen and a garage and amazing Terrazzo floors...aahh. And to think I'll only have it for the summer, maybe longer! Here are some pics (straight from it's website!):

Iron Man 3

Loved it! Action packed movie filled with good writing and comical moments. Fantastic job! I saw it today in Redondo Beach with Ehren McGhehey and Johnny Knoxville and we also bought Johnny's mom something for Mother's Day (a.k.a. tomorrow). BUT WAIT!

What's been going on this week Christina!
And what're you doing for mother's day?

Well Christina I'll tell ya. So, Tuesday I was on Jimmy Kimmel's show right? (Right!) And Wednesday I received a big gift basket of assorted goods apologizing for the mistaken comment about The Strokes (that's outrageous!) so Thursday night after the taping of the show I went over to Hollywood and returned the gift basket back to Jimmy saying that that was crazy and foolish (what'd he say!?) Well...

CHRISTINA
(knocks on JIMMY KIMMEL's door) Hey it's Christina Essenelle.
JIMMY
(from inside) Christina? Sure come in.
CHRISTINA
(she opens the door and hands him the gift basket, he laughs) What is this!
JIMMY
It's a gift basket!
CHRISTINA
Well yeah but why do I have it?
JIMMY
Well we just wanted to again apologize for that comment.
CHRISTINA
You guys are ridiculous, here take it.
JIMMY
I don't want it!
CHRISTINA
(placing it in his hands, he smiles a goofy smile) What're you doing tonight?
JIMMY
(taking the basket he puts it on the table closest to him) Tonight? Hm. Let me see, (he takes out his iPhone 4s) Siri, what are my plans tonight?
SIRI
Here are your events tonight.
JIMMY
Ha ha, check out my calendar. (CHRISTINA looks at his phone and sees that "The Office" finale and "Community" are his events for tonight)
CHRISTINA
Oh man, the finale is tonight?
JIMMY
Yeah for the whole series.
CHRISTINA
(jokingly) Well I'm sorry to have bothered you.
JIMMY
(he laughs) So do you want to watch it?
CHRISTINA
Sure, but we better head out soon though because it's 7:45PM.
JIMMY
Oh shit, yeah did you drive here?
CHRISTINA
No my car's in New York, I took a town car.
JIMMY
Okay, well let me get dressed in real clothes-
CHRISTINA
Oh yeah of course-
JIMMY
And then we can polish off this basket.
CHRISTINA
(laughing) Alright, I'll be in the hall.

And after that we ate chocolate covered pretzels, peppermint squares, graham characters, Pirouettes, and drank 2 bottles of wine and an airplane bottle of Svedka. We went to Jimmy's beautiful home in the hills and laughed and watched the series finale of The Office and the season finale of Community and just had fun! Afterwards I took a taxi back to the Margera's and slept. Super fun time.

Mother's Day is tomorrow and Jimmy Kimmel is having 25-30 people over at his larger home in the hills so I'll be there for that. I actually met Jimmy's mother (Joann) and helped her wash potatoes and set up chairs on the patio. Great woman, very excited for tomorrow. In terms of "super" famous people coming (along with their parents and siblings) I know Ben Afleck and Jennifer Garner and their kids Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel will be there along with; Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi, Matt Damon and Luciana Barroso and their kids Isabela, Gia, Alexia, and Stella. Should be fun!

The Experience

was just wonderful. I've never met Jimmy Kimmel before! And what a nice guy too, really funny, really fun, and just a sweetheart. Here's basically what happened:

JIMMY
You know our next guest from SNL, BBC's The Mighty Boosh and The I.T. Crowd, we know her as America's sweetheart here she is ladies and gentlemen, Christina Essenelle! (crowd cheers, hoots, hollers, and whistles as CHRISTINA walks out from the sliding door and around the set, she too is wearing a pair of sunglasses and mock throws them at the audience but then takes them back and puts them on her head, JIMMY stands and greets her with a kiss on the cheek and shows her, her seat) You're gonna keep onto those?
CHRISTINA
Yeah, they're nice.
JIMMY
I like the very nice dress and sunglasses look. (audience laughs)
CHRISTINA
Well I was back stage with Robert Downey Jr. and he told me about the sunglasses thing so I thought, oh how funny would it be if I did the same thing, so I took Bob the teleprompter guy's sunglasses and was thinking of donating them. (the audience laughs
JIMMY
So those aren't even yours?
CHRISTINA
No but how funny would that have been? Give it to some guy, he sells it on eBay, makes bank, and then it's just Bob's sunglasses. (the audience laughs
JIMMY
(coming out of a laugh) You know I'm sure the audience will find this appalling but this is the first time we've met!
CHRISTINA
(the audience cheers) It is! And what a lovely visit!
JIMMY
How did that happen?
CHRISTINA
You know I'm always in New York so I always get stuck with Fallon.
JIMMY
So you come to LA and try out a new Jimmy. (the audience laughs)
CHRISTINA
A new Jimmy! Well I must admit I have been on Conan and he's down here too so I do feel bad.
JIMMY
Well, you're here and looking stunning, so what're you here promoting?
CHRISTINA
Nothing. (CHRISTINA laughs) I'm just in LA for kicks.
JIMMY
For kicks?
CHRISTINA
Yeah, you know going site seeing uh I saw Spiderman outside! (the audience laughs
JIMMY
Yeah you'll see a lot of those.
CHRISTINA
It's funny too cause I've met Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire and they've never jumped off a light post and asked me for money.  (the audience laughs)
JIMMY
Yeah they'll do that to you, well I know you're not here promoting anything but didn't you just finish up a movie?
CHRISTINA
I did actually! And I can finally talk about a teensy portion of it. So, yes, I did a film with Chris Nolan and it's the sequel to The Dark Knight Rises.
JIMMY
(the audience cheers) Wow! Now we've known for a while that you've been working with Chris Nolan but not that it was apart of the Batman franchise. Can we expect a Strokes soundtrack throughout the film? (the audience laughs and CHRISTINA sees JOE shaking his head no and JIMMY notices too)
CHRISTINA
No actually, The Strokes and I parted ways just recently.
JIMMY
(with a confused look on his face his ruffles through his cards and removes one that was sticking to the back of another index card) And look at that Julian Casablancas and The Strokes are on my no-no cards. Let's cut. (the audience lights go on and JIMMY takes off his lapel mike) I am so sorry.
CHRISTINA
No no! I don't know why you had to cut, it's totally fine, you know, we're still friends. (tears well up in her eyes as make-up comes over) Ah, well this is a bad first impression.
JIMMY
Oh Christina, do you want to go backstage for a minute? (JIMMY looks over at JOE and he's pointing to his watch
CHRISTINA
It's fine, good thing this show is taped. (she laughs and JIMMY smiles) Let's get this show on the road right!
JIMMY
Yes (everything darkens again and the make-up and camera people rush away as the countdown starts) So do you play a lead role in the film?
CHRISTINA
I'm not sure exactly how well-versed you are in the comic book world but I play the opposite to Joseph Gordon-Levitt which is Barbara Gordon or Batgirl.
JIMMY
Batgirl? Wow, what an amazing role for such a budding actress! And right off the bat, you're supposed to do embarrassing stuff first you know! (the audience laughs
CHRISTINA
Oh I got all of the embarrassing stuff out of the way when I did SNL.
JIMMY
You know there are some skits I've just died watching, here's one now (the play me as the Russian women from the meteor on Weekend Update, the audience laughs) Now does doing characters like that help on set?
CHRISTINA
Oh god, the antics I pulled on set...
JIMMY
What was one moment that was just so ridiculous?
CHRISTINA
I'll let you in on one that I didn't tell everyone on my blog.
JIMMY
Oh good.
CHRISTINA
(she laughs and then claps her hands quickly together) Goody! (the audience laughs) So when we were filming we did this one scene where this bell was ringing and they had to do a slow close up of me while the bell was rang. But we had so many technical difficulties that we were thinking of just filming it, editing out the sound, and then add in the bell later but Chris was so intent on it being 100% real and live that we spent two hours-
JIMMY
Two hours? How long was this clip?
CHRISTINA
This bit was about 10 seconds long, literally it was let the bell ring a few times and then look at the camera for a few seconds. And it went on for two hours! So while we were waiting for the bell to be just right and for planes and cars to stop coming by Javier Bardem and I drew on these transparent sheets and we'd draw stuff like dinosaurs and fire and put them on the lens of like 3 of the cameras so when you looked through the lens it looks like I was being eaten by a dinosaur or the clock tower was on fire. (the audience laughs and JIMMY takes out a picture of a close-up of me with big goofy drawn on glasses on, the audience laughs more as the camera zooms in) Yeah that's one!
JIMMY
So this is what you put poor Chris Nolan through.
CHRISTINA
It was a lot of fun.
JIMMY
How did the camera men not notice?
CHRISTINA
Well Javier is really attractive so, he sways people easily.
JIMMY
Especially the men.
CHRISTINA
(laughing) Especially the men!
JIMMY
Alright well thank you so much for coming in you're as lovely as they say, Christina Essenelle everybody!

Day 1 {Joseph Gordon-Levitt}

We're such dorks when it comes filming promos.

Yes

Julian and I have broken up, but it was mutual and we did end on good terms. I will always love Julian and he will always be someone I care about but the long-distance really killed our relationship and in the end, we are just two different people. And as most psychologists say: birds of a feather flock together more than opposites attract. And Julian and I were polar opposites. But we're still friends and I know he still cares about me too. I'll still be in California this summer (just in case we want to get back together) and I have a lot of friends out here too, for the time being I've been hanging out with the old Jackass crew (well Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, and Wee-Man) and just have been fucking around the past few days. Jules and I broke up Friday night so I've been trying to pre-occupy my time doing stuff but unfortunately I cleared my summer schedule to be with Jules so...now I'm kind of scrambling. I am going to Hawaii just for fun with Vanessa, Bobby, Jason, Kristen (Wiig), Fred, Nasim, and Seth, we're going to Maui for a fun vacation like we did three summers ago in Alaska. Sadly not all of the SNL crew could come (Kenan, Bill, Cecily, Tim, Jay, Kate, Aidy, and Taran) but it will still be an awesome time for relaxation and having fun with friends. We leave on my birthday actually! So my 23rd birthday will be on the island of Maui and on a plane! I'm very excited. And Tyson is coming out to CA on the 18th to hang out so that'll be fun. Anyways, ta ta for now!
